The fact that Mary and Joseph lived a true married life without the normal exchange of marital intimacy only highlights the deepest meaning of chastity. For chastity leads to mature, personal integration.

If God himself paid such respect to the very beginning of human life even before the person was able to respond, so should we. In fact, the more we co-operate with His plan for the creation and salvation of the world, the more we remain open to God who gifts us with the supernatural gift of eternal life and allows us to truly transcend this world.

In a sense, the present situation of every Catholic college or university mirrors the mission of the Church and all her members. Jesus calls us as individuals and as communities of learning to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

Advent reminds us of the very reason for the coming of God’s Son among us. He came that we might have life and have it in abundance.

Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God, is “the way, the truth, and the life” (Jn 14:6). In Jesus, the full revelation of divine truth is given.

In a word, when a human act conforms to God who is love and to His wise ordering of all creation, it is morally good. There is indeed a standard for truth and moral activity. And it is this standard alone that offers us the hope of living in peace with each other.

What a gift the life of these hermits is for us. “... [Their] search for the Absolute… suggests, as it were, a spiritual therapy for the evils of our time.

A well reasoned examination of the truth about life and the courageous commitment to protect the sanctity of all human life is the foundation of the common good and the guarantee that a country or civilization can endure.

The heart of Latino culture beats with the Catholic faith and makes the Latino culture a gift to all of us. It is a gift that is enriching this country as it recalls us to our common Christian values -- the true basis for freedom and justice for all.

The greater our reverence and prayerful attention to this mystery, the greater our effort to share in this mystery with holiness of life, the greater will be our life and our mission as disciples of Jesus.

The Rosary is a prayer after the heart of Mary. For the rosary is totally Christ-centered. In meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, we place ourselves in contemplation before God’s great love given us in Christ Jesus.
